Been a while since the last post, so many stuff that are supposed to be posted were not posted at all due to the passing of time. Anyways, updates is needed here and there, and a LOT has happened in between.
2. Wala na ang show ni Willie. Yun na. 3. Dumaan ang ilang bagyo habang walang bagong post dito. 4. At lumindol. Ouch. Okay. Spark the rage.

FREE to be robbed by greedy Gov't people. FREE to do any crime in the streets. FREE to speak of ill to our fellow countrymen.
Ayon sa opisyal ng website ng Mars One sa http://www.mars-one.com/en/: The Mars One Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that will establish a permanent human settlement on Mars in 2023.
WARNING: Contains spoilers on the movie's main story. Read at your own risk.
Leo Martinez, Enchong Dee, and Eugene Domingo, along with Empress and Jake Cuenca make up the Star-Cinema film with the hint of indie movie: TUHOG. The local term for “impalement,” Tuhog primarily revolves around the lives of three individuals who have been impaled by a tube after being involved in a bus accident. The story takes on the concept of death and having to face it without fear. The three victims can be interpreted as the three stages of life of an individual: the survival as an elderly person is depicted by Leo Martinez in his role as Tonio, who, at the later stages of his life, has decided to follow his dreams, despite the repeated warnings of his fanily. The struggle as an adult as seen in the life of Fiesta Dacanay, played by Eugene Domingo, a bus conductor who later gets involved with Renato Timbangkaya, a bus driver played by Jake Cuenca. Finally, we have the crazy days as a youth, with Caloy played by Enchong Dee and his girlfriend Angel who is brought to life by Empress Schuck. Each individual character comes into a web of chance meetings and circumstances and have met in one way or another and eventually meeting up at the bus that led to the accident. With a peek at each of these lives, we can see the problems these individuals have to face everyday. Some of these obstacles in life may be seen by others as simple, but for some it is a big deal. With a dash of laughter surrounded by drama, Tuhog delivers a great storytelling about life, its hardships, and accepting what's beyond our short life here on Earth. -- Rating: 8/10 The feel of being an indie film is there, which is a plus factor in the decision of the rating of this movie. One of the downside is the lack of additional explanation at the end of the movie, especially as to what happened to the characters in Fiesta Dacanay's story after the events at the hospital. Overall, it's a good watch, an inspiring movie, makes us laugh but at the same time leaves a mark about how we should live our lives. LINK NG VIDEO: CLICK HERE
------- To those who would prefer to read in English: A video of a "bullying incident" was posted in Facebook and have reached almost 50,000 shares from concerned netizens. This took place in a certain High School in the Philippines. The link to the video is provided in the post. Funny, Environment-friendly stuff are popping everywhere. From roadside message postings, eco-friendly organizations, and environment-friendly products. Heck, it's a global issue! In a simple way, yes, because of these initiatives, it seems like the world is moving towards a good direction. But give yourself time to absorb the reality, and you'll see the big picture. NO. The world is NOT moving towards a better future. At this rate, we will all live a life full of lies (okay, maybe we are already living that kind of life from the very start). You see, it's not that simple. We don't just plant a seed and call it a day. We don't just place side-by-side garbage bins with the labels Biodegradable, Non-biodegradable, and Recyclable and leave it at that. We need something more. If you really want to commit to a better environment, don't just do it with words. Don't just act for it once, or twice, or only if you are in a public place. The world is not going to be better with an increased number of "plastic" human beings. We could talk about this on a global scale, but it really is important to talk about what we actually see. There are so many organizations that talk about protecting earth and saving the environment. Yeah, clap, clap, clap. But still, you actually see that SOME of those people who are actually key people in the organization doesn't really care about environment that much. You could look at them, follow where they go, and observe the little things they do, and just be disappointed. They talk about saving Mother Earth, post quotes about environmental preservation, and sell stuff that contains more quotes about environmental preservation. Backstage, they throw their garbage anywhere they want (ouch, not good), they don't even have the initiative to throw a waste bin that's been overflowing with their own trash, they leave the lights on when they leave the room (saving electricity is part of saving Earth, dummy), and you realize that what they say is all recycled stuff that they heard from some other environmentalist group (well at least they know how to RECYCLE). I know, I know, not everyone is like that, but I just don't get it why some people would join environmental groups and act like that. So, what good does joining an environmental group do? The more people caring for Earth the better? Don't make me laugh. Many people only do it for the "good persona" award. What good thing did they even do? Plant seeds? Right. After the picture taking it's all left behind. Give it a few months and some wouldn't even dare to check the seeds they planted. Sad to say they only do the basic stuff and that's all they brag to everyone. As much as it is disappointing, we have no choice but to live in this polluted world. With so many environmental groups, I don't know why Earth is still degrading and even getting worse each day. Maybe it's time to move one step more than the basics. We need to save Earth, I agree, but could you commit some more? P.S. -- More Environ-MENTAL stuff coming up. Several new updates has been going on around the site builder, with various updates on my end of the interface. Since the site hasn't been updated in a while, I've decided to update the visual look of the site (again) while trying out the new UI. Anyhow if time allows, I'll be putting up more of my thoughts in here, and probably put some in an archive called the BrainBox or something less weird.
Since Xambayan was supposed to be a fun site (or a fan site), it contained random entries since 2010, but with the recent shift in online trends, it would be better to move most of the randomness of this site to Facebook so it would easily get shared to other netizens. Thus, this might be an opportunity for a re-branding on this end of Xambayan. Don't worry, it will still be rooting for a better Philippines (or Filipinas... whatever) but will be focused on my thoughts maybe. And so, welcome to the new Xambayan. Still random, but not that much. -The creator (of this blog), KNNN It's a treat! The National Breakfast Day celebration was celebrated throughout the whole country with a nice breakfast from McDonald's. Several participating McDonald's branches nationwide joined the event, giving out free McMuffins to the first 1000 customers of every participating branch. And to those who want something to go with their McMuffins, you just have to add 25Php to get a cup of coffee! This event was so good and heartwarming to watch. I went to the local McDonald's chain in my area to have my free breakfast claimed. Outside the store, the service staff and crew are gladly calling out to people passing by, including jeepney drivers and people who just happened to pass by, to give them coupons. These coupons are then presented to the store's cashier where it is exchanged for the meal. What makes you smile as you eat is that you see those hungry kids come in, fall in line, and receive their meal with a smile on their faces. That's really cool. So, were you able to get your free breakfast? How was your experience? Opening its doors internationally last 2009, TinierMe has been home to thousands of mini-avatars called "Selfies" (Selfy), the so-called tinier version of the user. It had the chance to create and dress up your own personalized avatars and play games with other players. In-game credits called Chibi Coins and the real-world money based G-Coins serves as currency used to be able to buy items to decorate your room and Selfy by buying at the in-game shop of spending them on Gachas for a random item. There are also pets called the Chibi Pets which you can take care of by giving it food, a bath, and by interacting with it. Various events also give players fun. The center stage is the Selfy Town, a place where various avatars could meet and chat and have fun. Groups have also been a vital part of the site, where various people of different interests meet up and talk about it. Ranging from certain interests like Anime clubs, bands, hobbies, to specialized groups like Trading groups, Event Research groups, and even Profile groups. Games like Old Maid and Sevens gives the players a chance to interact and at the same time get a chance to earn Medals which can be exchanged into items. TinierMe also had different sponsors ranging from StephanieYanez to our very own cosplayer Alodia. It seemed that the site was strong enough to hold on its current players and continue to prosper just like @games, its Japanese counterpart. Sadly, by the last quarter of 2012, a sudden news was placed in the site, telling players that it would close on the 10th of December, the year 2012. It meant the end of the world... for the Selfies. The site has confirmed that account cannot transfer its current player base to its Japanese counterpart, which means all the player's well-earned items, unspent coins, well-kept diaries and heavily designed profiles would be purged from the internet world. Connections of various Selfies would be severed, unless they have already chosen an alternative site to continue their current companionship that they share in TinierMe. And for all the Selfies out there... it's been a wild ride, but as cliche as it is, every beginning has an end, and though the end may be coming, a new beginning shall be borne from it. And so we go. |
